Spathoglottis Rockin Plum

Spathoglottis Rockin’ Plum – Like colour in the garden? BAM! Feast your eyes on this plum-coloured beauty. Those flowers are a visual treat with their hot pink petals that fade to a creamy yellow centre all finished off with a splash of yellow on the lip. 

Rockin’ Plum is a garden ground orchid that flowers early in the season on multiple 50cm flower spikes held above long glossy green leaves. It’s vigorous and pretty tough considering it’s completely gorgeous.

As a feature plant, you won’t find better. It grows back stronger each year surviving the winter months in dormancy.

Rockin’ Plum’s bright colours catch the eye so try mixing it in with ground-covering greenery or in a container on your deck. Around the pool, it brings a tropical feel and it certainly adds a splash of colour to your rockery.

• Where to place me:  I like the sun so a warm bright place, please

• How far to space me:  20-30cms will do. We look amazing planted en-masse so don’t be shy.

• Soil Conditions: Fertile, damp soils without waterlogged roots suit me. If you can give me fertiliser as I begin to push up flower spikes I’ll bloom extra bright.
