Microsorum Diversifolium Kangaroo Fern

Microsorum Diversifolium is also known as the Kangaroo Fern. It’s a lovely Australian native fern with glossy green fronds that grow in irregular sizes and shapes – that’s where the ‘diverse’ part of its name comes from.

It’s a great indoor plant if you need texture and really suits an epiphytic set up such as a log or cracked rock. If you don’t fancy that, this fern is low-growing enough for a hanging basket or groundcover in shaded situations.   

You’ll need to keep an indoor Kangaroo fern in bright indirect sunlight and lay off the watering can until it’s dry. Read our guide to indoor plants if you need a hand.

• What to use me for: I’m perfect as a specimen plant beneath trees, in a hanging basket or indoors to wow your guests.

• I grow to:  I’ll reach 30cms high and 90cms wide.

• Where to place me:  I need full shade outside and bright indirect light indoors

• How far to space me:  I need 50cms of elbow room

• Soil Conditions: Outside I need cool moist soil, but indoors I need well-draining potting mix on the dry side.
