Lomandra Confertifolia ‘Little Cricket’ So you like our Lomandra Hystrix but don’t have enough space? Don’t panic, here’s Lomandra Confertifolia ‘Little Cricket’ an Australian native grass-like plant that’s a mini-version.

It has a compact, semi-upright habit with weeping tips and in late spring it’ll surprise you with dense clusters of scented, cream-coloured fluffy flowers.

Little Cricket tolerates hot, humid and wet summers AND cold, frosty winters. In fact, it’s so tough that it suits coastal gardens too.

It’s a great all-rounder that sits well in a rockery, in the border or as an unusual feature plant in a pot to break up that boring old decking.

• What to use me for: What can’t you use me for would take up less space! Pots, borders, rockeries, coastal gardens, native wildlife gardens. I rock them all.

• I grow to: I’ll reach 40cms high and 30cms wide.

• Where to place me:  I like full sun and partial shade.

• How far to space me:  In the border space me at 30cms.

• Soil Conditions: I’ll grow in most soils but not waterlogged ones.
