Ixora White Malay

Ixora White Malay is a snowy-white shrub that shows off bright white balls of bloom with a tinge of pink edging in the summer.

She has dark green foliage tipped with bronze new growth that really highlights the white flowers. It’s just lovely – no questions asked. 

Ixora White Malay is a compact shrub that won’t grow out of control and she’s pretty hardy despite the delicate little four-petalled flowers that pollinators go crazy for.

This lush flowering beauty is a great choice if you prefer a muted colour palette.

She suits a low hedge, a small outside border or a larger border if she’s mass planted. On the deck or poolside, at the front door, or on view through the window this dependable little shrub perks up a tired container.

Give her a yearly application of fertiliser and spread some mulch around the roots to prevent weed competition and to retain moisture. The food will also boost her colours for maximum impact.

• What to use me for: I make a really pretty small hedge in a tropical/subtropical garden or I brighten the deck in a pot.

• I grow to: A compact height and width of one metre – maximum.

• Where to place me: A partly shaded or sunny position in the garden suits me down to the ground.

• How far to space me: For a tight hedge 75cms.

• Soil Conditions:  Well-drained soil please – I don’t like a soggy bottom
