There are a few varieties of Ctenanthe but the Pilosa variety, which is also known as Golden Variegated Ctenanthe, is one of our favourites.
It’s unusual foliage is elliptical with green, yellow and white abstract patterns that really brighten a partially shady indoor or outdoor corner. Itās one of those dependable foliage plants that fill a gap.
This beauty has a lovely habit of developing larger leaves as she grows in stature, rather than producing lots more little leaves. Sheā a real trooper too, beyond hardy, drought tolerant and just keeps going even if you forget about her.
Water Pilosa when the soil is dry and donāt leave the roots standing in water. If you can wipe the leaves free from dust occasionally those abstract patterns will pop out.
